Planning a bathroom remodel? Bathroom remodeling can pay off handsomely if planned well and executed according to plan. If you're looking to install a new ceiling shower in your bathroom, picking the right shower can be a tricky thing.

While there's certainly plenty to think about, here are a few important tips for selecting a new ceiling shower for your bathroom:

Consider the Water Flow

When choosing a shower for your bathroom space, it is important to think about its flow rate. The flow rate is the amount of water that the fixture will release per unit of time, and is usually measured in litres per minute.

If you want to treat yourself to the luxurious feeling of water flowing down your head from the ceiling like heavy rain, you will need to install a high-flow shower. If you're keen on maintaining the water flow at an efficient but usable rate, you might be better off installing eco-friendly versions, which are designed to provide lower flow.

Consider the Mode of Operation

Another important thing to contemplate when picking a shower for your bathroom is how it works. Ceiling showers can be manual, digital, thermostatic and more. Each option has unique advantages and disadvantages, which should be carefully reviewed before reaching a final decision.

Traditional manual showers are operated entirely by the user, while thermostatic showers are equipped with a thermostatic cartridge, which controls the flow and temperature of the water. The more recently innovated digital or smart showers can be operated by a panel located within the bathroom, remote control or home automation.

If you're tech-savvy and love convenience, for example, go for digital showers.

Consider the Water Heating System

The different types of ceiling showers out there are suited to varying levels of water pressure. Water heating systems for homes can be gravity-fed, pressurised or combination boiler high-pressure or low-pressure systems.

If your home has a hot water tank in the cupboard but lacks a cold-water tank, then you have a high-pressure system. Most modern homeowners have incorporated this system into their home because it provides ample pressure suited to enjoying long, relaxing showers.

If your home has a low-pressure system, a power shower may be the perfect option for you. Power showers are specially designed to help with boosting the water pressure to adapt to your household needs.

Choosing a ceiling shower for your bathroom can be an overwhelming task, but you can make the right choice if you make the right considerations. You can always consult an expert if you need help with making a final decision.
